This is business, and this is the way mobile phone business is done better than any other mobiles.

The mobile phone brokers literally compare plans and they create a profile of plans for their clients. That’s raised the standard of phone plans across the board. It’s good business for their corporate clients, too, because they can save tens of thousands of dollars per bill with this very demanding approach to their communications.

The brokers are “market forces” in the most unambiguous sense. The strong dissatisfaction of many business clients with their phone plans has raised the ante for the phone carriers, and a quiet revolution is already starting to hit the front line sales zone.

The future
There’s no doubt that the communications industry is getting on the better business bandwagon as fast as it can. Corporations need to look at their phone plans on the most practical basis:

• Better deals
• Good private/business functions
• Value for money
• Well organized plans
• Good rates
• Simplified, no-nonsense, no-bureaucracy plans
• Built in business functions

Corporations can thank the mobile phone brokers for putting an end to the bureaucracy. The future of the corporate phone plans isn’t in doubt. The days of having to tolerate phone plans that simply create more work for accountants than deliver functions are over.

Fees for using two of the most common suffixes for Internet addresses are going up for a second consecutive year.

VeriSign Inc., the company that keeps the master list of domain names ending in ".com" and ".net," said that effective Oct. 1, the annual fee for ".com" names will go up 7% to $6.86 and the ".net" fee will increase 10% to $4.23.

The fees are what VeriSign charges companies that sell domain names on its behalf, and those charges are generally incorporated into the prices that companies, groups and individuals ultimately pay to register names.

VeriSign could make up to $37 million a year from the increase, with some 75 million ".com" names and 11 million ".net" names in use. The price hike, however, applies only at renewal and to new registrations, and many resellers offer discounts on multiyear deals.

VeriSign recently announced plans to further improve security and increase capacity for the servers that keep track of ".com" and ".net" names. Computers from around the world check them continually to find out how to reach ".com" and ".net" Web sites and pass along e-mail.

The price hike, disclosed in a letter to the Internets key oversight agency, does not require any regulatory approval.

What may become the worlds fastest supercomputer? IBM Envisioning a new chip next year that will go into a University of Illinois in a seek to build supercomputer.

The notorious HAL 9000 sentient supercomputer in "2001: A Space Odyssey" was built in Urbana, Illinois, presumably on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.It is being housed in a special building on the Urbana-Champaign campus specifically for the computer that will theoretically be capable of achieving 10 petaflops, about 10 times as fast as the fastest supercomputer today.

Though not aspiring to artificial intelligence, the IBM Blue Waters project supercomputer, like the HAL 9000 series, will be able to do massively complex calculations in an instant and, like HAL, be built in Urbana-Champaign. (A petaflop is 1 quadrillion floating point operations per second, a key indicator of supercomputer performance.)

The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois, it will be the largest publicly accessible supercomputer in the world when its turned on sometime in 2011.

Supercomputers are essentially a large collection of microprocessors acting in concert on a complex problem. As processor designs go, the upcoming Blue Waters IBM Power7 processor--due in the first half of 2010--is a big step for IBM, combining the best of IBMs two separate chips used in its "Roadrunner" supercomputer, which has often been ranked as the fastest supercomputer in the world. Power7 fuses the flagship Power chip design with key technology from a separate "Cell" processor that was part of IBMs Roadrunner system at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, according to Bradley McCredie, an IBM Fellow in the Systems and Technology Group.

It integrates eight processing cores in one chip package and each core can execute four tasks--called "threads"--turning an individual chip into a virtual 32-core processor. As a yardstick, Intels high-end Xeon processors typically have two threads per processing core.

IBM is also using novel memory technology. Widely used "static" RAM memory, used as the on-chip memory in almost all processors today, can add as much as a billion transistors to high-end processors. IBM wanted to avoid these ballooning--and costly--chip counts and elected to use a technology called E-DRAM, keeping the total number of transistors to 1.2 billion. "The equivalent number of transistors if we had done all of the cache in (static RAM) is well in excess of two billion," McCredie said.

And the chips speed?
Between 3GHz and 4GHz (IBM has yet to make a final decision), which is actually a lower rating than the previous Power6 chip which ran at 5GHz. "We have gotten performance from other spots, such as the dense E-DRAM. We had to back off from the gigahertz in order to get eight of these cores on to the chip and not have it melt," according to McCredie.

IBM has also made other tweaks to get the performance up. It has brought circuitry onto the chip for communicating with system memory--which was previously external to the processor--and returned to "out of order" instructions.

And how does IBM keep this dense collection of ultrafast processors cool? In a word, water. "We actually went a bit further environmentally," said Ed Seminaro, an IBM Fellow who is involved with the University of Illinois project. "We took a lot of the infrastructure thats typically inside of the computer room for cooling and powering and moved the equivalent of that infrastructure right into that same cabinet with the server, storage, and interconnect hardware."

Seminaro continued: "The whole rack is water-cooled. We actually water-cool the processor directly to pull the heat out. We take it right to water, which is very power efficient," he said.

Worlds fastest supercomputer?
The Blue Waters project is funded by the National Science Foundation and follows a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project that also uses IBMs Power7 chip, according to Seminaro.

"We did a lot more than what we would have typically done because of this (DARPA) engagement," Seminaro said. "And what followed was the Blue Waters contract. Blue Waters was a bid to the National Science Foundation. We had strong story based on what we did for DARPA," he said.

Blue Waters will be able to theoretically hook together 16,384 Power7 chips--referred to as "nodes"--for a total theoretical performance of 16 petaflops, though IBM said that, at least initially, the theoretical peak performance will likely be closer to 10 petaflops and the much more strict "sustained" performance on real-world software applications (not cited in Top 500 supercomputer statistics) will be one petaflop.

But organizations like DARPA and the NSF are not looking only at Top 500 "peak" benchmarks, which can be achieved rather crudely, according to Seminaro. "You can get a pretty good number without a lot of bandwidth (speed) between nodes," he said, referring to the Top 500 Supercomputer "LINPACK" benchmark. "Because theres almost no communication between nodes that you have to do for this benchmark. And you can get away with very poor memory bandwidth."

In Blue Waters case, the transfer rate between nodes is a game changer, Seminaro believes. "The transfer of data between any of those two nodes in the system is at the full rate of 192GB per second--peak," he said. "So, you can get data from anyplace to anyplace at that kind of speed with latency on the order of less than one microsecond."

This kind of performance is crucial for big companies and governments alike. "Companies including Boeing, GM, and Ford, use these systems heavily. Most of the crash tests are now done on these machines. And weather prediction--a large percentage is done on this platform," Seminaro said. More specialized government-centric applications include simulations of how to properly dispose of nuclear waste, he added.

Blue Waters is the largest supercomputer project that Seminaro has been involved in since 1999, when he first participated in a supercomputer project. "This is really the biggest," he said.

And watch out Intel, Power7 is coming to commercial server products too. Said Seminaro: "We will be shipping [Power7 processors] sometime in the first half of next year in some of commercial products."

The PictureMate Pal resembles a small, high tech picnic basket, complete with pivoting handle and basket lid. The lid flips up to reveal a 2 inch color LCD and a few buttons, and the lid also doubles as the paper input support. One of the buttons, labeled Open, opens a panel on the front of the printer. This panel conceals two memory card slots and does double duty as the output tray.

The unit measures 8.5 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and 5.7 inches tall, all folded up, and weighs only 5.3 pounds. Its handle and small size make it portable, but youll have to carry along the included AC adapter and power cord, which can be unwieldy. (The Snap and Flash versions both have optional internal batteries for truly hassle free portability.)

The other buttons include power, menu, Select All, OK, cancel, print, forward and back buttons for navigating the menu or scrolling through pictures, and a layout button that toggles through your layout options.

The memory card slots accept all major types of memory cards, though some require an adapter. In the back of the printer lives a USB port for printing from PictBridge enabled cameras.

The Snap and Flash versions allow you to use the USB port for connecting external storage devices, but the Pal does not.

Setting up the PictureMate Pal is a simple task, whether you are using it with or without a PC.

If you want to do PC free printing, simply plug in the power adapter, insert the ink cartridge, and power up. The first time you do this, youll have to wait a few minutes for the ink cartridge to charge. To print, simply insert a memory card and follow the instructions on the LCD. If you want to print all of the pictures on the card, just hit the Select All button, choose how many copies of each image you want (you have to print the same number of each photo), and hit the green print button.

If you want to pick and choose, scroll through the images using the arrow keys. You can print images one at a time as you look at them or scroll through the entire batch (changing image settings and the number of copies as you go) and print all your selected images in one fell swoop.

We suspected this, but now its clear that NVIDIAs end game when it picked up PhysX-maker AGEIA was to integrate physics processors into graphics cards. Right now, theyre porting the PhysX engine over to run on GeForce 8s, and itll be a simple software download, bringing some additional physics-crunching juice to current cards. The next step is a GPU with an onboard specialized physics processor.

For one, AGEIAs standalone PhysX cards havent really broken into the mainstream computing. Throwing their chips onto NVIDIAs graphics cards would push adoption, and by Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huangs reasoning,

encourage people to buy even better GPUs. It might—and probably will—encourage people to buy a second GPU for their SLI slot. And for the highest-end gamer, it will encourage them to buy three GPUs. Potentially two for graphics and one for physics, or one for graphics and two for physics.

Apple released a 3.1 version of its Safari Web browser on Tuesday with several improvements. Apple said the new version loads Web pages 1.9 times faster than Microsofts Internet Explorer 7 and 1.7 times faster than the open-source Firefox 2 browser. It also said Safari 3.1 runs JavaScript up to six times faster than any other browser, and it is the first to support new Web standards.

Apple said the speed benchmarks were based on VeriTests iBench Version 5.0 with default settings, running on an iMac 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo system with Windows XP and 1GB of memory.

For Mac and Windows
The browser is available as a free download at www.apple.com/safari, and works on both Mac OS X and Windows operating systems. For Mac, the browser requires either the Tiger 10.4.11 version of Mac OS X, or Leopard, with at least 256MB of memory on any Intel-based Mac or any Mac with a PowerPC G5, G4 or G3 processor. For Windows XP or Vista, at least 256MB of memory is required and at least a 500-MHz Intel Pentium processor.

Apple Senior Vice President Philip Schiller said Safari 3.1 is "blazingly fast, easy to use" and features an "elegant user interface." Best of all, he added, the newest Safari supports audio, video and animation standards needed for the next generation of Web 2.0 experiences.

In particular, Apple noted that Safari 3.1 is the first browser to support new video and audio tags in HTML 5, as well as the first to support CSS animations. It also supports CSS Web fonts that offer new design choices.

Support for MacBook Air
The interface includes drag-and-drop bookmarks, easy-to-organize tabs, and an integrated Find that shows the number of matches in a page. A built-in RSS reader enables the user to scan and view news and information from feeds. Other features include double-clicking on the tab bar to open a new tab, URL metadata that accompanies images when they are dragged or saved from the browser, and support for trackpad gestures of back, forward and multiply on MacBook Air computers.

The new Safari also supports offline storage for Web applications in SQL databases, support for SVG and CSS images, and support for SVG advanced text. The Windows version improves on back and forward controls, supports signed Java applets, shows the Caps Lock icon in password fields, and adds support for international domain names. In addition, a contextual menu in the Windows version permits opening a link in a window or tab and there is improved pop-up blocking for plug-ins.

For the developer, Apple noted that there is now an option in Safari preferences to turn on the new Develop menu, which has Web development options. There is also access to a Web inspector with CSS editing, an improved snippet editor, and support for a custom user agent string.

The design of the LaserJet M2727 series multifunction is all business. The putty and gray body of the M2727nf stands 19.7 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 18 inches tall, and weighs almost 38 pounds (the M2727nfs is taller and heavier due to an extra paper tray). The flatbed scanner lid is topped by a 50 pages automatic document feeder. The control panel is divided by task.

In the center are a backlit, two line text LCD, menu navigation buttons and an alphanumeric keypad. The fax area includes one touch dial buttons, redial, phone book, volume, and resolution buttons. Mecca, the Islamic holy city in Saudi Arabia is constructing the worlds largest clock, started counting time yesterday from the beginning of Ramadan.

This clock is located centrally in the city, close to the Grand Mosque and is positioned on a skyscraper. This makes it six times larger than the Big Ben tower in London and can be seen 17km away in evenings. The four clock faces are 46m in diameter, and lit up by 2m LEDs, which flash green when the 5 prayer sessions should commence each day.

Not just a clock tower, the skyscraper forms a cluster of  7 towers which will contain a shopping mall, some 2,000 hotel rooms, enough space for 30,000 to pray in, and even two helipads. Wow! Isnt really a Giant Clock?

The Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680 goes for a two tone look, with a black lid offset against a white interior. The glossy plastic finish is attractive, even if we generally prefer the matte look, but can be seriously fingerprint prone. A huge silver Qosmio logo sits on the back of the lid, so this isnt the laptop for those who would rather not broadcast their brand preference to anyone nearby.

At a little more than 10 pounds and 17 inches wide, this is a huge system, rivaling other bulky 17 inch laptops weve seen lately, such as the Alienware m9750. Hauling it, even from room to room, is a pain, but home theater laptops like this arent meant to be moved very often. Like the Alienware m9750, the Qosmio G45 moves the optical drive bay to the front, making it easier to access unless, like us, you had the system sitting on a laptop stand with rubber feet that partially block the front panel.

Conversely, the HDMI output, important if you want to use the built in HD DVD drive with a plasma or other big screen external display, is on the rear panel, which can be hard to access.

By way of comparison, most laptops have the optical drives and video outputs on the side panels. While desktop replacement laptops often have a lot of quick launch and media control buttons, we have yet to see one with as many options as the Qosmio G45.

Besides the usual array of touch sensitive media control buttons above the keyboard, there is a large, silver colored volume jogwheel to the left of the keyboard and an AV control wheel, which uses a four way rocker switch to control media functions, to the right. The controls are fun to use, but we found the blue backlighting annoying, until we found the button to turn it off (its on the row of buttons above the keyboard).

The laptops multimedia functions are rounded out with a basic external USB TV tuner and a Media Center remote control. The remote is useful, but weve had plenty of experience with PC TV tuners and have yet to find one thats ready for prime time. Toshiba is going for a first with the Qosmio G45, making it the first U.S. laptop to feature a recordable HD DVD drive.

While Toshiba is nice enough to throw in a single recordable blank disc, we agree with the common assessment that the HD DVD or Blu-ray format wars are far from over, and cant think of too many reasons why youd want to tie yourself into just one next gen format at this point. Wed gladly trade the HD DVD drive, recordable or not, for $500 or so off the price.

At least the screen is up to the task of playing back high definition movies. The 17 inch LCD display offers a 1,920x1,200 native resolution, which is enough to display the full 1080p resolution of HD DVD discs. Thats a feature lacking from some other laptops with high definition optical drives, including the Sony VAIO FZ180 and the HP HDX.

Chiar daca BlackFriday este deabia pe data de 29 Oct. , doar peste cateva ore,  mai multe magazine mari au dat startul deja, incepand inca din data de 22. Desigur ca totul a fost in favoarea lor, insa nu a fost prea corect din punct de vedere al altor magazine, care nu s-au grabit precum fata la maritat cu acesta sarbatoare, si respecta traditia.

DELMAG, magazinul meu preferat in materie de electroice , tindand cont de raportul dintre caltitate si pret, isi “deschide serverele” pe data de 29 si va asteapta cu super reduceri si super produse. Eu unul stiu ca am sa fac o noapte alba, bantuind pe site-ul acestora, cautand super produse la preturi de nimic. Nu uita ca intrecerea se da vineri seara, de la ora 00:00, te voi astepta la linea de start, cu mouse-ul pregatit pentru a cumpara putin mai mult decat tot ceea de ce am nevoie.

Daca tot am ajuns sa-mi impartasesc dorintele cu voi, aici am sa va prezint 2 produse de care va avertizez sa nu va atingeti! O da, nici macar sa nu va ganditi sa dati click.
